AI for financial advisers: client files stay in the practice.
An advice practice runs on documents that regulators expect you to produce on demand: statements of advice, file notes, review records, years of client correspondence. AI is built for exactly this work, and client financial information is exactly what should not be pasted into cloud tools. Ermos hardware puts the drafting and retrieval capability inside the practice, where the client files already live. Our current unit is Dominion.
What your team does with it
First drafts of SOAs, ROAs and review letters in your templates, grounded in the client file, for the adviser to review and own.
Turn meeting notes into structured file records that evidence the advice process, ready for adviser sign-off.
Pull together a client's position, prior advice and correspondence into a review pack the adviser verifies.
Draft update letters and responses grounded in the client's actual file rather than boilerplate.
Summarise product information and prior positions from your own research library, cited to the documents.
New staff query templates, processes and past treatments instead of interrupting a senior adviser.
The compliance frame, plainly
An AFS licensee's general obligations under section 912A of the Corporations Act 2001 include adequate risk management systems and competent provision of services; how client data moves through third-party tools sits squarely inside that. Advice record-keeping obligations mean the file has to show your work, and the best interests duty makes the documentation trail the evidence. Alongside all of it, client financial information is personal information under the Privacy Act 1988, with the APP 8 cross-border question raised by any offshore AI processing. None of these instruments prohibits AI; all of them make you accountable for where client information travels. Processing that stays inside the practice keeps that answer short.
Advisers comparing cloud tools should read our ChatGPT Enterprise comparison, which covers what the enterprise tier genuinely gets right and what it cannot change.
Built for how a practice actually runs
Your Ermos unit is installed on your network and fully managed: monitoring, model updates and support included, with ErmosIQ tuning the models to your templates, your advice style and your processes. Advice remains the adviser's: the unit drafts and retrieves, people decide.
The use case library
Process-level guides to running specific workflows on an Ermos unit, each on its own page. We add to this library as clients show us new ways they work.
