Ermos AI for year-end workpaper review.
Year-end is a production line of workpaper packs, and reviewing them is hours of cross-checking schedules against ledgers against last year. It is detail work AI is built for, on files a practice cannot defensibly push through a cloud tool. An Ermos unit runs the review inside the practice.
How it works on the unit
The engagement's workpapers, ledgers and prior-year files are indexed on the unit over your network.
Ask where the schedules disagree with the ledger, which balances moved materially against prior year, and whether the pack's internal references line up.
Query points and review notes are drafted from the flags, each citing the schedule and cell range it came from.
Managers verify flags against the cited sources and clear or raise them. The judgement stays with the reviewer; the reading-cold disappears.
Why on-premise matters here
A workpaper pack is the client's entire financial life in one folder. APES 110 section 114 and the TPB code make the practice accountable for where it goes; our accountants' obligations guide works through the analysis. On the unit, the pack goes nowhere.
What it changes at year end
First-pass review in hours rather than days, juniors verifying instead of hunting, and seasonal workload absorbed without seasonal licences, because users are unlimited and nothing is metered.
